St. Croix moves to improve product development and distribution
Wisconsin company, St. Croix Rod, has appointed Robert Woods as Product Manager to help improve product development and distribution processes.
Woods (pictured), a passionate angler from the age of four, has spent the last eight years at Wells Vehicle Electronics in Fond du Lac. The south east Wisconsin native said it was more than just the product side that attracted him to St. Croix.
“I’ve always made time to give back to the sport I love and that’s something I really appreciate about St. Croix,” he said. “I’ve seen and read about the organisations and causes it supports – like Take a Vet Fishing, the NPAA, ASA and RBFF. And individual team members also get involved personally in events and causes that are good for angling.
“The culture is unique in that respect. Until you spend time in (St. Croix’s headquarters) Park Falls you don’t fully understand the passion and commitment that shines through at all levels.
Woods’ connection with St. Croix goes back a long way. “I remember my dad buying a rod at the St. Croix factory store when I was about eight years old,” he added.
St. Croix VP of Marketing, Jesse Simpkins, said the hiring of Woods was the latest example of the company’s commitment to developing and delivering tools that improve the angling experience.
