Mustad has announced the global launch of eight ranges of rods covering a wide variety of fishing techniques and inspired by experts from across the world.
The launches, which sees the Norwegian tackle giant take its first step into the fishing rod sector, will be followed by further introductions at ICAST, the world’s largest trade show of its kind, in Orlando, Florida in July.
Developed with Bassmaster Elite Pro angler Brandon Lester, the BLF Instinct rods lead the range with tailored specifications and premium components which have been tested and proven at the highest professional level. In February, they impressed when Brandon won the St. Croix Bassmaster Southern Open on the Kissimmee Chain, in Florida.
“I have been fishing my whole life and everyone knows my history as a custom rod builder,” said Lester. “I’ve put everything I have learned as a builder and Elite Series angler into these rods. Each one is designed just the way I needed it – right down to the finest detail. The Mustad Instinct rods are the best I have ever used, period.”
Mustad’s range does not stop there. Imagined by professionals, its inshore rods are said to give anglers the construction of custom rods at a competitive price. The G-Series Inshore range is a set of performance-level rods that are available in a wide range of power and action configurations in a spinning style reel seat.
The popular slow pitch jigging techniques from Japan have gone global and become a staple in offshore fishing. The G-Series Slow Stroke Jigging rod line-up offers four versatile rods featuring 40-T high modulus carbon blanks and premium Fuji reel seats and tangle-free guides. They are available in four one-section models to match all Mustad slow fall jig weights and styles.
For the passionate freshwater angler, Mustad has launched the G-Series Hybrid – a premium hybrid rod range for large lakes and rivers. Built around an innovative telescopic/two-section design, these rods offer the mobility of a collapsible rod while maintaining strength and sensitivity of a typical two-section stick.
Using the same telescopic construction as the G-Series Hybrid, the Vantage Hybrid rod is extremely versatile and ideal for modern urban lure fishing techniques. It is available in both spinning and baitcasting models.
Designed for Nordic anglers, Mustad’s new Escape Spin rods are ideal for freshwater species as well as inshore saltwater fish like mackerel and sea trout. For big game, the Escape Boat comes in two fast action options with a reinforced construction designed for monster halibut.
Mustad continues the range with two Vantage rods. The Vantage EVOQ range is a multi-purpose, fast action rod for modern lure fishing techniques, while the Vantage FX collection is a virtually indestructible option for the widest range of applications – a real workhorse.
“We have brought together the experiences and input of professionals and talents from across the globe to bring in an impressive range of rods to the market,” said Product Manager Enrico Parmeggiani. “I am extremely satisfied with the quality and construction of these products and look forward to continuing this journey.”
Mustad rods will hit the stores this spring.
