The world’s largest sport fishing show – due to place this weekend – has been cancelled at the last minute.
The 2022 Long Beach Fred Hall Show, which was to feature the likes of Pure Fishing’s Berkley, Garmin, Johnson Outdoors and Savage Gear America, was expected to return on Wednesday (March 2) and run through to Sunday (March 6).
Organiser of the show, Duncan McIntosh Co., said in a statement: “Owing to the ongoing pandemic and local government protocols requiring masks, proof of vaccination and/or at the door testing, we are not able to move forward with the Fred Hall Show at the Long Beach Convention Center.
“We are truly sorry about this last-minute development, but we were unfortunately led to believe that these types of government regulations would have been sufficiently lifted or relaxed by now. Such is not the case and thus we cannot produce the kind of high quality show that is expected by our exhibitors and the attending public under the current government restrictions.
“Fred Hall is an iconic show that many of us looked forward to each year and hope to see it back again in the future.”
