Daiwa has a new man in charge of its US Sales. Gerad Cawhorn, who has been at the company for 14 years , has been promoted from National Accounts Manager to National Sales Manager.

Daiwa says it expects the appointment to increase its sales in the US and Canadian markets.

With Daiwa’s National Sales Meeting and the ICAST trade show coming up, Carey Graves, President of the North American operation said: “Gerad has played a key part in the changes and growth of our brands and we expect that to continue going forward as he assumes his new role. His great attitude, dedication and natural ability to lead made him an easy choice for National Sales Manager.

“I know he’ll continue to build upon his strengths while leading the sales team to new heights through his drive to win, ability to make good decisions and dedication to our brands and this industry.”

Cawhorn said the various positions he has occupied at Daiwa were a good background for working with everyone from independent dealers to mid-sized and major customers. As National Accounts Manager, his focus was on core sales and working with larger players including Bass Pro Shops, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Tackle Warehouse, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Amazon, plus a host of other primary players, both in bricks-and-mortar and internet capacities.

“I want to help our customers at every level grow their businesses, with Daiwa being a key partner in their success,” said Cawhorn. “At the same time, we want to ensure our end-users fully enjoy every aspect of putting their Daiwa gear to the test on the water day after day.”

“It’s been exciting to grow with this company and watch it succeed through the years. There’s plenty of upside ahead, and I can’t wait to see where we’ll be a little further down the line.”
