Do-it-Molds offers lures with a difference

Anglers can now paint their own lures, thanks to custom tackle supplier Do-It-Molds. The Iowa company has introduced a new hardbait line called Crank Blanks which allows customers to choose and apply their own colours.
“Our customers don’t just settle for off-the-shelf lures, so expanding into custom crankbaits and the rapidly-growing custom painted hard bait market offers more opportunity,” said Do-It-Molds Product Developer Brennan Chapman.
The blank canvas lures are available in 26 profiles covering topwater baits, jerkbaits, square mills, deep divers, lipless cranks, hollow body frogs and even jointed swimsuits for big bait enthusiasts.
They feature sanded, waterproof-welded seams and are the first blank lures in the market to come pre-masked to keep spray off the clear lips.
“Once they have been painted and clear coated, the factory mask is removed and custom components can be added,” said Chapman. “No longer do anglers have to make-do with the colours and components produced by lure manufacturers.”
All Crank Blanks profiles are sold in five-packs. New designs will be made available in the future.
