Catch Co., the digitally driven US fishing brand, has made two senior appointments to help maintain its current growth momentum.
The Chicago company recently announced a $38 million Series B funding round, along with the acquisition of Recur Outdoors, a fly fishing subscription box business.
Now the multi-brand operation has added Lisa Kempa (above right) as Chief Financial Officer and Elles Skony (above left) as Chief People Officer.
Kempa’s brief is to enhance cross-functional operations and workflow, create cost-effective results and drive profits. She joins Catch Co. after a 29-year career in financial and operational management where she has been focused on premium wholesale and retail consumer brands with multinationals and start-up organisations. Her outdoor and sporting goods credentials have been earned at companies including The North Face, Nike, Converse, VF Corporation and Cole Haan.
Skony is Catch Co.’s first ever Chief People Officer. Her previous roles included almost ten years at Basis Technologies, known for its reputable culture, and most recently at XSELL Technologies.
“As we continue to grow our company and our ambitions, it’s essential that we add talent to all levels of the organisation,” said Ross Gordon, CEO and founder of Catch Co.. “It’s especially important for us to continue to find ways to add diversity to the fishing industry, and having two very talented leaders join our team is a huge win for our entire industry.”
Kempa is based on the East Coast in the New York area and Skony is based in the Chicagoland area. Both will report directly to Gordon.
Catch Co.’s brands include Mystery Tackle Box, Karl’s Bait and Tackle, 10,000 Fish and Biospawn.
