Kevin VanDam, one of bass fishing’s most decorated anglers, will be wearing Costa Sunglasses during this year’s US Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour.
“No eyewear brand is more committed to anglers than Costa,” said the four-time Bassmaster Classic winner. “As a professional angler, my eyewear is a critical part of my gear and I would never settle for second best.”
KVD, as he is commonly referred to, has been at the top of bass fishing for the last 25 years and was inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2018. He has been B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year seven times, MLF winner four times and Fishing League Worldwide Angler of the Year.
In 2015, he and his wife started the Kevin VanDam Foundation to benefit charitable organisations focused on children’s welfare.
“KVD is not only a legend in the fishing community but also truly embodies our mission and culture,” said Costa’s newly-appointed Vice President of Marketing, John Acosta. “His passion for getting people on the water, promoting healthy competition and commitment to sustaining the sport for future generations is something we really value at Costa.”
Last year, the Florida company produced the Costa Compete + Conserve contingency programme, which rewards the highest-placed angler wearing Costa sunglasses in select tournaments and donates to organisations nominated by the angler.
