Retailer, Angling Direct, which already has a widespread network of stores across the UK, is to expand its reach still further by opening new premises in Washington, Tyne and Wear.
The Norwich-based business has purchased space in a vacant car dealership that is being transformed into a retail and trade destination after standing empty for two years. The project is due to be completed in late Spring.
The 13,400 sq. ft. development has received planning permission and has been sold to a private investor for £2.275 million. The roadside site is being divided into four retail and trade units that have been let to Angling Direct, Toolstation, Franks Flooring and Greggs. The site also includes a new electric vehicle charging station.
Angling Direct is the largest omni-channel fishing tackle retailer in the UK, with more than 30 stores and a central distribution centre in Rackheath, Norfolk. It has an increasing presence in Europe with three international websites, the recent appointment of a commercial manager for Europe and plans to open a warehouse in Holland.
