A third recreational fishing tackle show of 2022 in France has been postponed following the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The country’s top fishing magazine, La Pêche et Les Poissons, has reported on its website that the Nantes Sea Fishing Show – due to take place from February 4th to 6th – has fallen victim to the pandemic for another year.
The move follows similar decisions to cancel the country’s biggest coarse fishing show at Clermont-Ferrand and the Montluçon carp event.
The magazine says that many exhibitors due to take part in the Nantes show were unwilling to put their employees at risk of COVID, particularly the Omicrom variant.
The 2023 Nantes Show will take place from March 3rd to 5th. To cater for companies still wanting to take part in a show this year, a fishing section has been set up at the Nantes International Fair, which is scheduled to take place from April 8th to 10th.
