Promoted as America’s largest ‘pure’ angling show, the Ultimate Fishing Show is currently taking place in Detroit. The four-day event at the Suburban Showplace concludes on Sunday (January 9th).

Highlights of the show, which is produced by ShowSpan, include appearances by some of the country’s best-known anglers, including Kevin VanDam and Mark Zona, and a 110,000-gallon indoor tank that doubles as a seminar stage.

Visitors can also attend clinics for bass and walleye fishing and youngsters can fish in a trout pond. In addition to vendors of both fishing tackle and speciality baits, the event is also showcasing more than 100 boats from dozens of manufacturers.

“There are more anglers within a one-hour drive of Detroit than any other market in the US, making this the largest fishing market in the country,” says the organiser. “Visitors can shop for every kind of fishing boat or engine, as well as meet the owner/operators of outfitters, lodges, resorts, charters and guiding businesses before their calendars are full.”
