Saltwater giant adds support to Sea Angling Classic


One of the best known sea fishing brands in the world has become the latest major name to commit its support to the first-ever Sea Angling Classic, taking place next summer.

Pure Fishing brand Penn is drawing on its 75 years of experience in saltwater fishing to support the international fishing event, which will be run out of Portsmouth from June 15th to 19th.

Penn said that a major factor in its decision to get involved is the fact the event combines a major sea angling competition, conservation and environmental initiatives, education and research, while introducing a whole new generation to the sport.

Dave McCartney, Senior Marketing Manager at Penn Europe, said: “As Penn is one of the leading saltwater fishing brands in the world, it’s important that we support initiatives that represent the saltwater angling category.

“When we were approached it was something that really excited us. There is currently no other saltwater event in Europe that can match the scale of this event. We knew we needed our brand, Penn, to be present. We’re looking forward to the event and making it a huge success and we look forward to a long-lasting partnership between Penn Fishing and the Sea Angling Classic.”
