Share

The US hunting, shooting and outdoor powerhouse, which last month announced the acquisition of Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, has prepared the ground for further acquisitions within the recreational fishing sector with a high profile appointment.

GSM Outdoors has hired industry professional and competition angler Crispin Powley as its Vice President of Fishing. He said: “The opportunity to grow the group into the fishing space comes as an exciting and welcome challenge. With the team and resources here and its commitment to our retailer and consumer relationships, I look forward to the adventure of bringing products and brands to the fishing market that add value to the sport that we are very passionate about.”

Zach Henderson, Vice President of Sales at GSM Outdoors, added: “I have had the pleasure of friendship with Crispin for a while now and have always thought that when we eventually jump into the space, we would want him on the team. His wealth of knowledge and passion for the sector is unmatched. From product development, sales or marketing, we will build our personnel around Crispin as we dive further into the space.”

“Fishing continues to be a bright spot in America’s pursuit of outdoor recreation, with participation growing across the country,” said GSM Outdoors CEO Eddie Castro. “The incorporation of Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits into our family of brands comes at a perfect time for us to merge our manufacturing and distribution capabilities with new innovation and marketing opportunities into the recreational fishing segment and we are pleased to have Crispin on board.”
