Pitman Creek opens ‘largest and most modern’ US distribution facility

Share

One of North America’s leading suppliers of fishing tackle now boasts the ‘largest and most modern facility’ among US distributors following the opening of its new Kentucky headquarters.

Guests and dignitaries, including state governor Andy Beshear, attended a grand opening of the Pitman Creek Wholesale facility in Stanford, which has seen the addition of 60 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees there to 160 Kentucky residents. Investment also includes the cost of new distribution equipment, conveyor systems and office equipment. The new jobs created through the project include management, team leaders and production roles.

“This facility brings Pitman Creek full circle to our beginning. After the purchase of the company in 1993, we started in Stanford with a 2,500sqft rented space and now we have the largest, most modern facility among all distributors within our industry,” said James Coffey, President and owner of Pitman Creek. “Our Kentucky employees are the best in our industry and now they have a facility to match.”

Established in Somerset in 1978, Pitman Creek began as a custom fishing lure manufacturer and has grown to become a full-line tackle distributor for over 5,000 retail stores across the US and ten other countries. The company distributes over 30,000 products from more than 280 vendors and is recognised as an industry leader for its superior customer service and fast delivery.
