Brunswick, owner of some of the top selling fishing boat brands, has reported record-breaking sales at one of the world’s biggest boat shows.
The Boston Whaler brand reported a revenue increase of 35% and Sea Ray growth of 30%, compared to last year’s event, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). For the fourth consecutive year, Mercury Marine displayed more engines than any other manufacturer, accounting for more than half of all outboard engines at the show. And products from Brunswick’s Advanced Systems Group were installed on more than 70% of US OEM boats, plus many boats from international customers.
“This show sets the tone for the US Fall boat show season and is a good indicator of consumer sentiment carrying into the following year,” said David Foulkes, Brunswick Corporation CEO. “Mercury continues to capture a high share in key markets as boat builders from around the world adopt Mercury’s innovative and industry-leading outboards in record numbers; a trend that was evident again this year at FLIBS.
“Demand for our premium boat brands continues to set the pace, and the increasing scale of our Advanced Systems Group in combination with its rapidly expanding portfolio of products and brands is enabling growing penetration and success across the industry.”
Mercury’s 600hp V12 Verado and Sea Ray’s Sundancer, both launched earlier this year, made their FLIBS debut. And Bayliner returned to FLIBS with its award winning Element Series.
Brunswick, headquartered in Mettawa, Illinois, also recently reported record share and sales at the Cannes Boat Show.
