With show prospects uncertain China Fish extends digital offering

With no prospect of a physical China Fish show any time soon, the owner of the event has developed and extended an online service to maintain links between Asian manufacturers and international buyers.
It launched what it calls the ‘One-on-One Video Connection Agent Service’ at the CGC (Weihai) Show (main picture) in November last year and that will be in operation again at the same event next month.
From October 18th to 30th the service will be extended to cater for buyers who would normally attend China Fish. During this period buyers will be able to ‘meet’ suppliers online. The registered buyers can view products on the China Fish website in advance, choose the items and suppliers they are interested in and arrange to meet digitally.
Li Jiang, owner of the Beijing Admire Exhibition Company, which runs a number of fishing shows in the region, including China Fish, said: “This new service represents a convenient and cost effective way for buyers to ‘visit’ shows while it is not possible for them to attend shows in China. They simply send a list of manufacturers that they would like to contact from their homes or offices.”
He added that the suppliers are carefully selected and to date there are 360 companies offering in excess of 5,290 products online. “The platform is privacy-friendly and enhanced by show agents who are there to help buyers every step of the way. It is a free service that is still in the development stage and is being improved daily.”
Services include:
• Sourcing products;
• Dealing with enquiries;
• Product Showcase livestream;
• Online meetings;
• Contract signing facility.
