Tackle industry steps up to support Bass Fishing Hall of Fame

The US tackle industry has stepped up to support the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame (BFHOF) as it prepares to stage its annual Induction Dinner and Online Auction this week.

The presenting sponsors, Major League Fishing (MLF), Rather Outdoors and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.), have all provided financial assistance to one of fishing’s great occasions. And further backing has come from Bass Cat Boats, Pradco Outdoors and Wired2fish.com (Gold Sponsors), AFTCO and Daiwa (Silver Sponsors) and In-Fisherman, Pheonix Boats, Simms Fishing and Shimano (Bronze Sponsors).

“The Induction Dinner has become a must-attend event with the support we are receiving from companies, past inductees, pro-anglers and others,” said John Mazurkiewicz, President of the BFHOF Board. “We can’t say thanks enough, especially to MLF, Rather Outdoors and B.A.S.S.”

MLF is sponsoring the auction, which will feature memorabilia and one-of-a-kind experiences in the days leading up to the ceremony. One of the prizes is a bass fishing trip with 2001 inductee Bill Dance (main picture) on his private lake in Tennessee. The auction starts September 28th. “It is great to see the bass fishing industry truly come together to celebrate our sport,” added Mazurkiewicz.

This year’s event is taking place on Thursday (September 30th) at the Wonders of Wildlife Museum in Springfield, Missouri, and will honour both the 2020 and 2021 inductees, as last year’s dinner had to be cancelled. The 2020 induction class features Steve Bowman and Jay Yelas, along with posthumous inductees Bryan Kerchal, Ron Lindner and James Heddon. The 2021 class comprises Gene Gilliland, Trip Weldon and the late Jason Lucas.
