New Dick’s outdoor store chain partners with Jack Wolfskin

Public Lands, the new outdoor store concept from Dick’s Sporting Goods, has become a retail partner with Jack Wolfskin, the global apparel and equipment brand headquartered in Germany.

The move comes as Jack Wolkskin seeks to expand its North American footprint through retail partners who share its sustainability and environmental protection values.

“Our brand is grounded in a passion for deeply connecting with natural ecosystems, and we hope that through our apparel and gear individuals can enjoy the many trail systems of North America,” said Diana Seung, General Manager of Jack Wolfskin North America.

“This venture perfectly aligns with our brand ethos. We look forward to connecting with a broader consumer base through these locations.

With some 800 stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods is one of the biggest retailers of fishing tackle in the US. Its new Public Lands’ retail locations are designed to provide a deeper outdoor experience, encouraging product trials and providing space for customers to try out products.

The first Public Lands store will open in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the weekend of September 24-26, with the second opening in Columbus, Ohio, next month. Dick’s says shoppers will notice an inherent difference in the merchandising and shopping experience, with retail spaces designed to fuel the need to get outside.

Jack Wolfskin was acquired by the Callaway Golf Company in 2019 and has an office in Park City, Utah.
