Mustad Americas President leaves company

Share

Jordan Davis has left his role as President of Mustad Americas to become CEO of Volcon, an all-electric, off-road powersports company.

Davis joined Mustad in May 2018 and was charged with helping the iconic Norwegian-based company expand from a fishing hook brand to a global multi-brand platform. He led Mustad’s acquisition of TUF-Line the following year. Prior to Mustad, he held senior roles at the Remington Arms Company for almost ten years.

At Volcon, Davis succeeds Andrew Leisner, who has joined the Advisory Board providing guidance to the leadership team. He will lead the Austin, Texas company’s next operational phase at a crucial time, with the brand’s first model, the Grunt, beginning to ship to customers. He will focus on processes including production line efficiency, marketing initiatives, business development and scaling of the sales team.

Volcon has achieved rapid growth through its direct-to-consumer model and is also exploring brick-and-mortar retail opportunities.

“We’re seeing immense interest from various retailers in both the motorcycle and adventure-outfitter markets,” said Davis. “And both are a perfect fit, as our Grunt model checks all the boxes for experienced riders as well as those who may have only ever ridden a bicycle before. It’s truly a versatile product that will provide great riding for our core motorcycle enthusiasts and those interested in hunting, fishing and exploring while on a Volcon. Our trajectory toward the growing outdoor industry is going to be a bulls-eye.”
