EFTTA severs association with organising company after 35 years

Share

Resolutions, the organising company behind EFTTEX for more than 35 years, is leaving the fishing tackle trade.

In a farewell message to EFTTA members, the head of Resolutions and EFTTA General Manager, Janet Doyle, says: “It is with great sadness that this day has come and we are having to say goodbye. Our last day will be July 30th. It has been an honour and a great pleasure working with the trade. We have some very fond memories of you all and of the many EFTTEX shows that we organised. We shall miss you and wish you great success with EFTTA-AIBSL in Belgium, EFTTEX 2022 and beyond.”

The move follows EFTTA’s decision to shut down its British office (EFTTA Ltd.) and to create a new association in Belgium called EFTTA-AISBL.

“I want to express my deep gratitude to Resolutions, which has always done an excellent job, and I deeply regret that we cannot cooperate any more in the future. It has been a pleasure to work with them,” said CEO of EFTTA-AISBL Olivier Portrat.

The new body will be registered in Autumn this year and EFTTA Ltd will be liquidated. The organisation’s new address will be in Brussels close to the European Commission and the European Parliament where EFTTA does much of its work.

“EFTTA-AISBL will be an international non-profit association that will belong to its members and no one has private interests in it,” explained Portrat. “All profits (donations, membership fees and EFTTEX income) will be invested yearly for the protection of the industry around recreational angling, while the tax-office of Belgium will oversee that.

“The transition period will be between now and Autumn of this year,” added Portrat. “Once the new structure is registered in Belgium, we will be fully operational again. For members, nothing will change except that the future membership invoices will come from EFTTA-AISBL and not from EFTTA Ltd.”

The current employees of Resolutions are moving on to pursue individual projects and opportunities.
