Daiwa set to ‘blow competition away’ at ICAST with radical stickbait

Share

A radical new stickbait designed to ‘blow the competition away’ awaits visitors to the ICAST trade show in Orlando.

The Steez Custom HMKL Minnow is the work of renowned Daiwa tackle designer Kazuma Izumi whose objective was to create a bait that compared to the universal forage bases of minnows and juvenile fish.

“Ever since Daiwa started designing and building baits our first concern has been to create lures which look and act realistically,” said Izumi. “Now, in addition to that challenge, we’ve also explored a more effective combination of colours and actions that provoke predatory fish.”

The HMKL’s body is incredibly lean because Izumi believes leaner lures are more effective in tough fishing situations. It incorporates a tungsten weight transfer system for bullet-like casting and to maintain underwater balance, SaqSas swivels and hooks front and back and the first circuit board carbon bill to feature on a jerkbait.

The bill is extra sharp to cut the water cleanly and get the bait to where it needs to be, as well keeping the action precisely accurate. In addition to largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, the HMKL is also recommended for walleye, trout and pike.
