Australian distribution deal for Sea Falcon realises major 2021 priority

Japanese lure brand Sea Falcon has achieved one of its priorities for the year by appointing a distributor in Australia.
It has reached an agreement with Viva Fishing, a New South Wales-based wholesaler, which already distributes a number of top Japanese brands.
Sea Falcon International Sales Manager Martin Bakos said: “Establishing distribution in the country has been one of our primary targets for 2021. I have been researching the market for a while and after talking to several contacts within the industry, the name of Viva kept coming up. After initial contact, what impressed me most was the clear vision of the company and its dynamic approach to distribution. In a business where the fastest wins, having a distributor that is able to make prompt and firm decisions is a huge advantage.
Bakos told Angling International that the agreement between the two parties was due to be officially announced at the Australian Fishing Trade Association (AFTA) show, which was due to take place last week before its cancellation. “Despite that, the brand has already established a foothold with Viva’s salesmen promoting the products and the building of a marketing campaign based around local pro staff,” said Bakos. “In Australia our stickbait series (pictured) will become the backbone of the range, so we are planning to produce a series of movies showing the bait chasing Australia’s saltwater predators. We are also committed to using our R&D experience to craft the most fitting products for the market.”
Australia has been one of Sea Falcon’s primary markets for over a decade, says Bakos. “Back in the day, President of the company, Tetsuo Itou, loaded up his luggage with products and headed to Australia, touring local tackle shops and visiting as many as 80 which helped build a base for the brand. This kind of dedication to international markets is rarely seen by Japanese brands, but highlights just how important the market was seen by Sea Falcon. Now, with the backing of a strong distributor in Viva Fishing, we can finally fully establish Sea Falcon on a major scale.”
