‘We have done it again!’ Materials give OEM rod maker an extra edge

Top OEM rod manufacturer Weihai Julia has introduced two full ranges of flagship spinning and casting rods for the north Europe and US markets.

The 70-strong line-up is dedicated to targeting species that include pike, zander, perch, bass and trout using big and small swimbaits, soft lures, stickbaits, jigs and hard baits. The range covers several casting weights and includes different options including single piece, multi-piece and travel rods. The same blanks are built in two price ranges.

The first is described as ‘extraordinary’ and is constructed from Torayca Nanoalloy, TT1100g and M40XJ. Alberto Solza, Weihai Julia’s Executive Vice President of Sales, says: “This is a true flagship range of rods that are approximately 25% lighter against some of the benchmark rods on the market.

“The action and CW across the two ranges will be the same. All that is different is the blank diameter, weight and price. The rods can also be fully customised, with the guides, reel seats and handle material of your choice. Weihai Julia has direct relationships with most component suppliers and can easily source the desired option of our customers.”

Solza added that Weihai Julia has recently invested in a new CNC 5-axis machine that allows the company to shape any ring and foregrip in carbon, stainless steel or aluminium.
