The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) has strengthened its Government Affairs staff with the appointment of an Inland Fisheries Policy Manager.

Lifelong angler Connor Bevan (right) graduated in political science at Davidson College in North Carolina before joining the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation in Washington D.C. He has experience of a Senate campaign and most recently worked as a research fellow for the National Hydropower Association, focused on non-powered dam development to limit the impact of hydropower on fisheries.
“With so many local, regional and national issues impacting the health and accessibility of our nation’s freshwater fisheries, it’s critically important that the ASA stays on top of these many challenges and opportunities,” said Mike Leonard, the association’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “With his political and policy experience, Connor is a strong asset to our government affairs programme and will help us expand our involvement in, and impact on, inland fisheries issues.”
Bevan, a California native, is based at the ASA’s headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
