Soft lures only? Think again. Lunkerhunt is becoming a serious player with new product lines

Lunkerhunt, from Canada, has continued to grow and diversify its range in recent years to the extent that a company once known chiefly for soft plastic lures is now carving out a position as one of North America’s leading tackle suppliers.

“We are constantly looking at and exploring different avenues to develop new and innovative products that are not only different to what is already out there, but also high quality and practical,” says Brand Manager Ken Boyd.

As a result, Lunkerhunt’s offering now includes rods, rod and reel combos, braided line and the new Tackle Storage line of luggage as well as the lures that have won two ICAST awards in recent years. “We are a passionate group driven to create the absolute best quality products at competitive retail prices,” adds Boyd. “We cannot wait to share the great products coming out of the minds of the Lunkerhunt product development and design team in Southern Ontario.”

As a taster for what’s to come, here are four new Lunkerhunt products on their way to retailers’ shelves in 2021. All four products will be available in the shops from mid to end of summer 2021.

AUX Rod & Reel Combos

The launch of the AUX Combos is intended to build on the already popular and strong line-up of Lunkerhunt combos, with the eye-catching colours offering anglers something a little different. The 7-foot, medium heavy, two-piece rod is constructed from pure carbon blanks, providing both durability and sensitivity. The rod also comes equipped with a comfortable EVA handle, premium reel seat and low friction ceramic guides. The interchangeable 2000-size spinning reel is equipped with five ball bearings, reinforced bail wire and a CNC handle with a rubber knob for extra grip, feel and comfort. Designed for anglers at all ability, these combos stand out not only for their colours, but for the quality of components and great value.

LTS AVID Messenger Bag

This ultra versatile bag is the newest addition to Lunkerhunt’s Tackle Storage line-up. Built for both everyday and avid anglers, it provides storage options including a built-in plier pocket on the shoulder strap, MOLLE (modular lightweight load carry equipment) webbing for attaching accessories, a 3700-size tackle storage tray and two removable bags to make go-to items like baits easy to access. The bag is made from water resistant TPE fabric and comes in various colour options.

Typhon & Micro Typhon (main image)

These latest additions to Lunkerhunt’s HIVE bait range are made from UDSP (Ultra Durable Soft Plastic) designed to stand up to catch after catch better than most other soft plastics. The material also floats, allowing the tentacles on the Typhon (3.5 inch) and Micro Typhon (1.5 inch) to flow and flap in an action that attracts classic ‘hit and hold’ bites. They are recommended for anglers of all levels.

Tandem Trailer

The Tandem Trailer will enhance the action of any bait, making it even more deadly in the water, says Lunkerhunt. As its name suggests, this new lure works together with any bait to enhance its action and make it even more deadly in the water. Launched as another addition to the brand’s UDSP series of HIVE baits, it is a great option for anglers of all levels. You can’t go wrong, says Lunkerhunt.
