US rod maker St. Croix has appointed an international sales representative to help its ‘aggressive’ plans for global growth.

Greg Goddard (pictured), who is based in Switzerland, has joined the award-winning brand to support international distributors and retailers across the world.

St. Croix CEO Scott Forristall said: “We are pleased to welcome Greg to help facilitate our aggressive plans for international growth. His keen understanding of world markets goes beyond simply knowing how to move products. His wealth of knowledge, experience and angler-focused approach to doing business make him a great fit for our brand and team.”

“Over the past several months we have been reassessing the challenges and opportunities of our international business,” said Steve Self, St. Croix Director of Sales. “We have spoken to many overseas distributors to understand how we can better support them to grow their businesses. We are firmly committed to the investment of additional resources that move the needle for our international partners, and the decision to create this role and hire Greg is one example of that.”

Pennsylvania-born Goddard, who has lived in Europe and Asia for the last two decades, has more than 25 years of outdoor industry experience, most recently working for Columbia Sportswear Company.

“St. Croix enjoys a successful and growing business in its core market, which gives it a strong foundation on which to further develop its international business,” said Goddard. “It has established relationships in some international markets with strong professional distributors and specialist retailers. I look forward to working with all of them to help support and further develop their business, while increasing exposure for the St. Croix brand.”
