EFTTA office to close in UK and move to Brussels

Share

The European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFTTA) has confirmed that it is to close the company and its EFTTEX trade show subsidiary in the UK and relocate to Brussels this year.

In its latest newsletter, delivered to members this week, the organisation said that the move has been made following the UK’s exit from the European Union following Brexit. It will set up a new company EFTTA-AISBL (Association Internationale sans but lucratif or International non-profit Association) in Belgium.

EFTTA was first established in London in 1981. “Our purpose was to promote the industry, sportfishing, international business and environmental issues,” it said in a statement. “Our purpose continues to be the same, however trade and environmental issues have grown into so much more through our extensive lobbying work at European Parliament level. Due to Brexit and the UK leaving the EU, it is in the interest of our members to stop this work with UK registered companies and launch EFTTA-AISBL in Belgium.”
