Igloo introduces world’s first ‘recycled’ hard-sided cooler

The EcoCool, a hard-sided cooler revealed by Igloo this month, is a first of its kind, says the Texas company.

It is made from a recycled resin compound made by repurposing post-consumer plastic from discarded yogurt cups and milk jugs destined for landfill. The collection includes five styles, each made in the US, and will arrive at retail this spring.

Igloo used 58 tons of recycled resin in the initial production run, which equates to saving ten football fields of landfill space. The resin is used in the outside body, liner and lid of the EcoCool.
