Gill Fishing has hired Jeff Robles & Associates (JRA) to ‘produce immediate growth’ in the sales agency’s 17-state territory in the western United States.
The maker of technical apparel expects the agency to play a crucial role in its long-term strategy to build brand awareness, expand its dealer base and establish a presence in mass specialty retail. The deal comes just a week after Gill Fishing announced the appointment of Canada Pro and Outdoors to expand its awareness and dealer base in Canada.
JRA has an impressive record of growing brands in the fishing market. It is strongly connected in Texas and California, two priority targets for Gill Fishing.
“The team at JRA has critical relationships with the dealers we need to make Gill a top brand in fishing apparel,” says Tom Houston, Sales Director for Gill North America. “We aren’t reinventing the wheel with JRA. Jeff Robles and his team spent the past few years growing a new brand in the fishing market into a multimillion-dollar business.”

Gill Fishing was launched three years ago by parent company Gill Marine, a specialist foul-weather gear brand in the sailing and watersports markets.
