Boat maker shows caring side by helping local underprivileged children

Share

Employees at a top supplier of inshore and offshore fishing boats in the US have been helping a local charity that provides foodpacks for underprivileged children.

The team at Parker Boats volunteered to pack weekend bags for the charity, BackPack Friends, the Swansboro, North Carolina-based charity that provides nutritional, mental and overall wellbeing needs to children that receive reduced-priced meals at school. Now in its 10th year, the organisation delivers over 500 backpacks of food to children, who attend 14 local schools, over the weekend and during holiday breaks.

The Parker team also collectively sponsored a child through BackPack Friends. Scott Bauer, President of Parker Boats, said: “We have a great team that has a passion for making our community better. It was a great day working together to help kids in our local school get the support they deserve.”

Based in North Carolina, Parker Boats is a subsidiary of the Correct Craft group of companies.
