Successful year has BFT preparing for more of the same in 2021

Hungarian fishing line manufacturer, Balazs Filament Technologies (BFT) is preparing for another successful year in 2021 by taking advantage of the increase in fishing participation, which has been driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and a desire by people to take to the great outdoors.

The company’s Lajos Balàzs told Angling International: “Despite a challenging situation last year across the world, 2020 was great for BFT. At the beginning we did not know what to expect, but surprisingly our numbers turned out very well in both America and across Europe.

“We not only exceeded targeted sales for our CARBOTEX Revolution (pictured), which posted a 14% increase in sales, but all our products. We enjoyed very positive feedback from our partners. All of them unanimously highlighted the unique soft touch box that we use in our packaging and the quality of our premium category line.”

Balàzs added: “Despite COVID and a looming economic recession, we are fortunate that there have been some positive changes to our market and the lifestyle of people and are hopeful that this trend remains the same in the long-term. We have already had contact with some former partners and our existing ones are stable and prosperous. We have prepared for further growth with investment in new production machinery and are ready for the new challenges in 2021”
