In the same week that Dick’s Sporting Goods announced its partnership with Instacart for same-day delivery, Walmart has introduced a free carrier pick-up service for customer returns.
Walmart, a significant player in fishing tackle retail due to the 4,756 stores it has in the US alone, will allow shoppers to return products sold and shipped by Walmart.com without leaving their homes. They can set up a return time through the merchant’s new Carrier Pickup by Fedex offer, which will stay in place following the holiday season.
The retailer is also making changes to the returns process for customers who want to return merchandise in retail stores, while keeping its typical extended holiday return policy in place. Walmart stocks a comprehensive range of fishing tackle brands including Lew’s, Zoom, Eagle Claw, Rapala, Strike King, Z-Man, Yakima, Shimano, Quantum, Daiwa, Zebco, Humminbird and many of the Pure Fishing brands.
Last week, Dick’s Sporting Goods revealed that it had joined forces with online grocery delivery service Instacart to provide same-day delivery at 150 of its retail locations.
