New e-commerce site offers free shipping with every order

Share

A social media platform in the US is expanding into tackle sales – and is offering free shipping on every order.

GoWild, based in Louisville, Kentucky, launches its e-commerce platform with nearly 10,000 products from leading fishing and hunting brands, including Abu Garcia, Berkley, St. Croix, Daiwa, Rapala, YUM, Yeti and Garmin.

In yet another example of fishing businesses competing in the digital space, it is also offering free returns and competitive pricing.

“Gear research is happening online via social media,” said GoWild Co-founder and CEO, Brad Luttrell (pictured). “When our members find gear that has social proof, we’re now empowering them to purchase via a company that speaks the language and is as passionate about fishing, hunting and the outdoors as they are. And we’re using the money to give back.”

A percentage of each purchase through GoWild will be donated to Raise ‘Em Outdoors, a camp that teaches children and their families to fish, hunt, camp and enjoy the outdoors.

GoWild adds that its new social commerce checkout also allows consumers to shop thousands of stores and 360,000 products, even those stores and brands that it doesn’t carry. It claims to have the most expansive collection of outdoor gear on the internet. Shoppers can see prices for products across lots of online retailers and can monitor prices for items on their wishlist, receiving notification of significant swings.

“It’s really this simple – buying gear can be intimidating and it’s a barrier to the outdoors,” said Luttrell. “If we can give shoppers more information, such as feedback and real stories from other GoWild members using the products, people feel more comfortable and are more likely to get outside. Sometimes it’s less about reading every detail of a spec sheet and more about just knowing this is a good product that other people use. GoWild can do that better than any other e-commerce experience.”

GoWild says it will double its product offering by January 2021 and has more brands lined up for launch by the end of 2020.
