Retailer closes all its stores during lockdown but anglers can still Click & Collect

Share

The UK’s largest fishing tackle retailer has closed all its stores in England following the imposition of a lockdown in response to the worsening COVID-19 pandemic, but will still be providing a Click & Collect service for its customers.

With fishing still allowed under strict guidelines, Angling Direct says that its webstore remains fully operational for both UK and European sales, with its distribution centre fully prepared to fulfill demand during the busy Black Friday and the Christmas period.

England went into lockdown today for four weeks with all non-essential stores closed during the period.

In a trading update to the London Stock Exchange, the group said that the momentum it has achieved in the first half year has continued with sales remaining ‘robust’ throughout October. It added: “The company’s balance sheet and liquidity position remains strong and the majority of our key suppliers have confirmed that they will continue to operate during the lockdown period. As a result, the Board confirms that the group continues to trade in line with market expectations for the year ending January 31st 2021.”
