New date for Brazil’s premier trade and consumer fishing show

Brazil’s premier trade and consumer fishing tackle and boat show – due to have taken place in August – will now be held in March next year.

The Pesca Companhia Trade Show and Mariner Boat Show will be staged from March 24th to 27th at the PRO Magno Centre of Events, Sao Paulo.

Angling International‘s Brazil correspondent, Alex Koike, reports that fishing is getting back to normal in the South American country as anglers are starting to travel further for their fishing trips. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic only short trips were allowed.

It comes at the onset of the tucunaré-açu (peacock bass) season which is predicted to be good with water levels in the rivers in prime condition.

As with most other countries across the globe, fishing has enjoyed a resurgence in Brazil with retailers reporting brisk trade – in some cases more than double their sales compared to the previous year. “This has been an unexpected development, but no one knows how long it will last,” added Koike.
