Two major consumer fishing shows on either side of the Atlantic have announced new dates for their events next year.
France’s biggest freshwater event, Le Carrefour National de la Pêche et des Loisirs, in Clermont-Ferrand, is traditionally the curtain-raiser to the fishing show calendar across Europe and was due to take place in January. It will now be held from April 9th to 11th subject to the appropriate health and safety measures being in place.
In Canada, one of the country’s largest angling-only events, The Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo, has been switched from January to February 19th to 21st, subject to state approvals, recommended protocols and controls in the number of people allowed into the Niagara Falls Conference and Event Center.
“We are meeting daily and actively monitoring COVID-19 guidelines and recommendations in the hope of putting on a safe show for everyone,” said Melissa Gearhart, Director of Sales and Show Manager for the Canadian event. “Our fingers are crossed that we will have enough time to put together the expo and hit the 2021 fishing season window.”
