T-H Marine Supplies CEO: it’s time boat owners knew more about the role we play
T-H Marine Supplies, one of the largest manufacturers of boating and fishing accessories in the US, admits that many boat owners may not even know their boat is built using its components.
But the Alabama business, currently celebrating its 45th anniversary, says brand awareness is on the rise and will continue to accelerate as it makes its customer-oriented social media and website a top priority. Despite the impact of COVID-19 and having to shift anniversary plans to the Fall, T-H Marine plans to make the most of a landmark that had humble beginnings, vividly recalled by T-H Marine’s current CEO, Jeff Huntley.
“My dad and two of his buddies had a vision that would change the industry forever. I was about seven and had already helped put together fishing lures for my dad’s company, Bumble Bee Baits. Now I got to help out with boat parts as well. He wanted to improve the boating and fishing experience. At first it was through custom baits. Now it was an idea to enhance the throttle control with a built-in trim handle, the T-H that inspired the company name.”
Although Bill is now retired, he still fishes most weeks. And with Jeff Jr. now serving as VP of Operations, the business has been extended to a third family generation. As for increasing brand awareness, CEO Jeff gives credit to industry partners for their continued support. “T-H Marine is determined to keep that going with modern techniques, like making our customer-oriented social media and our website top priorities.
